Multiple sources from the sports fraternity has disclosed that two Belgium-based Ghanaian players, Majeed Ashimeru and Joseph Paintsil have been dropped from Ghana’s World Cup squad.
However, former AS Roma forward, Felix Ohene Afena-Gyan is also missing from the final list.
Coach Otto Addo is yet to announce the final 26-man squad selected from the 55-man provisional which was announced which was released on Friday, November 2.
The pacy winger, Paintsil and the modifieder, Ashimeru were hoping to make the Black Stars team for the Mundial but the Dortmund tactician has decided to go with their services.
The reports also indicates that Daniel Afriyie Barnieh is the only local player among the 26-man squad to participate at the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup.
The squad includes the new boys, Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, Kamal Sowah, Ransford Yeboah, Salis Abdul Samed and high-profile stars, Thomas Partey, Andre Ayew, Kudus Mohammed, Jordan Ayew, Alexander Djiku Daniel Amartey with three goalkeepers, Richard Ofori, Jojo Wollacot and Manaf Nurudeen.
