Ghanaian goalkeeper, Jojo Wollacott picked fresh injury which saw him sit out of Charlton Athletic’s game against Burton Albion in the English League One on Saturday.
He was pulled out of the warm up after hurting his finger at the Pirelli Stadium this afternoon.
Charlton manager Ben Garner says he hopes it’s just a sprain and not a serious injury.
The keeper will undergo a scan tonight to determine the severity of the injury.
Jojo Wollacott was the main man on Friday, making 5 crucial saves to keep Charton alive in their EFL cup tie against Stevenage.
He saved the penultimate penalty to see the team through to the next round.
This is the 2nd penalty shootout he has decided this season.
With just eight days to the World Cup, head coach Otto Addo will sweat over his goalkeeping department with injury of his first two goalkeepers Richard Ofori and Wollacott.
Ofori was sidelined from Orlando Pirates’ Carling Black Label Cup squad owing to an injury ahead of the semi-final against Kaizer Chiefs.
Both goalkeepers are expected to be part of Ghana’s final man squad for the tournament. The head coach Otto Addo will announce the list on Monday at 11:00am.
Ghana will battle Switzerland in friendly at Al Nahyan Stadium on November 17.
After that, they will then proceed to Qatar where they have been pooled in Group H alongside Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.
They will kick off their campaign against Portugal at Stadium 974 on November 24.
