Head coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Seydou Zerbo has rued his side’s missed chances as they held to a shock 1-1 at home by Legon Cities.
Coach Zerbo believes that his Kptoko side missed “huge opportunities” to move further ahead of Maxwell Konadu’s Legon Cities following their pulsating 1-1 draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday.
Steven Mukwala’s 16th minute goal was cancelled out in the first four minutes in the second half by Sadat Mohammed.
The Burkunabé tactician was visibly frustrated after the match as his team failed to make the most of their dominance in the game.
They had good chances to restore the lea but some brilliant defending and goalkeeping from the visitors kept them in the game. They could have snatched victory but had to make do with a 1-1 draw.
Speaking to StarTimes after the match, Coach Zerbo said: “As you just said we came all out to win this game but having a point is okay. We will go back to the drawing board and correct our mistakes. Is unfortunate that we’ve been getting chances but we are not able to utilize it. Is very unfortunate but we will go back and work so that in our subsequent matches when we get these types of opportunities we can utilize them.”
The result means Kotoko continue their impressive run having recovered from the 2-0 defeat to Bechem United. They rank third with 14 points on the league table.
