The Southampton man looks set in defence alongside Daniel Amartey, Alidu Seidu, Alexander Djiku and Abdul Baba Rahman.
In midfield, Thomas Partey returns to partner Abdul Samed after missing Ghana’s last game against Switzerland.
Inaki Williams starts upfront with Andre Ayew and Kudus playing from wings.
Ghana will want to break the deadlock to become the first African country to pick victory or score in this tournament.
For Portugal, Diogo Costa will start in posts. They have Cancelo and Dias in defence with Pepe starting from bench.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva have been handed a starting berth to battle the African giants.
