Argentina and Poland have qualified for the round of 16 in the ongoing FIFA World Cup from Group C.
Argentina defeated Poland by 2-0 scoreline but Lewandowski’s side made it through to the round of 16 despite their defeat, as they overcame Mexico on goal difference. Mexico could only beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 in the other group stage match.
The Copa America champions will play Australia in the round of 16 while Poland face World Champions, France.
Alexis Mac Allister scored the opening goal of the game, after Wojciech Szczesny denied Lionel Messi from the penalty spot with a brilliant spot. Julian Alvarez added the second.
Elsewhere, Mexico aslo claimed a hard fought 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia but they were not able to make it into the next stage of the competition.
They had nothing to do again following their goals from Martinez and Chavez.
Mexico left it too late and Saudi Arabia gave the world some great moments with Al Dawshari scoring a late minutes consolation for the Arabs.
They shocked the world when they came from behind to beat Argentina 2-1 in their first group game of the competition.
