German referee Daniel Siebert has been appointed as Center Referee for Ghana’s third Group H game against South Korea on Friday December 2.
The 38- year- old who has been officiating FIFA matches since 2015, will be assisted by Jan Seidel (Assistant I) Rafael Folytn(Assistant II) Yoshimi Yamashita(Fourth referee) while Vasile Marinescu from Romania serves as the Reserve Assistant referee.
Daniel Siebert will taste his game in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar having made his World debut in the Group clash between Tunisia and Australia.
Other officials for the day include Bastian Dankert – Video Assistant Referee from Germany; Pol van Boekel- Assistant VAR from Netherlands; Ciro Carbone for offside VAR; Paolo Valeri – Support VAR and Alessandro Giallatini as standby VAR.
The match is a rematch of the infamous 2010 contest in South Africa, which the South Americans won, as Ghanaians felt they were cheated with Luis Suarez’s deliberate handball on the goalline denied Ghana the needed victory.
The match is scheduled for the Al Janoub Stadium stadium tomorrow at 3pm.
