Reports suggest that Stephen Amankona’s management is set for a meeting with the Kotoko board regarding his future at the club.
A close source has confirmed to Ghanasportspage.com that, the former Berekum Chelsea captain could push for an exit if he is not handed guarantees about playing time this season.
It was in his contract that he will be part of the team’s starting line-up but the club has failed to offer the player playing time.
The report adds that the Porcupine has appealed to leave on loan in January to any of the GPL clubs.
The 22-year-old has appeared briefly for the Porcupine Warriors in five Premier League fixtures so far this season, however, has suffered to enjoy enough playing time.
Amankona failed to cut the club’s starting line-up in the previous season under Prosper Narteh Ogum despite showing glimpses of his best during the early stages of his career in the Premier League.
Amankona joined the Porcupine Warriors in October 2021 from Berekum Chelsea.
The 22-year-old was instrumental for the Bibires in the Ghanaian top-flight in the 2020/21 season where he netted 10 goals in 28 matches.
Amankona also helped the club to reach the semi-final of the MTN FA Cup.
He was the 12th signing of the Porcupine Warriors who were keen on clinching the Ghana Premier League from bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak.
