Black Galaxies boss, Annor Walker has confirmed that Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Danlad Ibrahim will join the team later due to illness.
The Porcupine Warriors goalkeeper has been admitted at the hospital which remains unknown after Ghana’s early elimination from the World Cup due to illness.
Danlad was among the two local-based players to join the Black Stars for the Mundial in Qatar but did not feature in the tournament and are back home following Ghana’s exit.
Annor Walker is hoping to welcome the top GPL goalie and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh to prepare the team for next year’s CHAN tournament.
And now, speaking to Ghanasportspage.com, the head coach has confirmed that the young glovesman is not fit to join the team now due to illness.
“Am expecting them in camp but the Black Stars goalkeeper’s trainer says Danlad is not fit and he has been admitted at the hospital but his sickness and the name of the hospital still remains unknown,” Annor Walker stated.
It remains to be unknown as to how long Danlad will be sidelined for the team’s training as they aim to make a mark at the CHAN tournament after missing the last three competitions.
The Black Galaxies are already in camp preparing ahead of the tournament which kicks off in January. They will face Hearts of Oak on Friday in camp.
Afriyie Barnieh and Ibrahim Danlad were instrumental in the Black Galaxies qualification to the CHAN after beating Nigeria in the final round of qualifiers.
