Hearts of Oak star boy, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh looks closer than ever to an exit following reports that he has turned down a new contract offer from the club.
The attacker’s current contract expires at the conclusion of the year, and Hearts will lose him for free if an agreement cannot be reached.
Barnieh has been in talks with a number of European clubs, including Asia according to reports.
Following the player’s decision to leave, the club is already out on the market for his possible replacement. They are negotiating with the ex-top scorer of the league, Diawisie Taylor, Maxwell Agyemang of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Great Olympics’ Abbey Quaye.
Although, Hearts of Oak continues to be interested in the player and is observing his contract situation his decision to leave had become more appealing.
Since joining the club in 2019, Barnieh has been labelled as the key player to the Phobians and one of the best in the league and has gotten off to a solid start in his career.
He was one of the two GPL players to have represented the nation at the World Cup but he was unlucky to kick a ball.
He joined the club as an underdog in 2019, having been rejected by Asante Kotoko but he has proven to be one of the outstanding players in the local league.
