Former Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko Jarvis Peprah has charged the current Board and Management of Asante Kotoko to move out of their shields and make their idea known to the supporters in the diaspora.
Jarvis in an exclusive interview with ghanasportapage.com, the former CEO pleaded with the current management team to open the territories and make the club known in the diaspora “I have informed the Board and Management not to see the club as only a Kumasi based club. They should move outside Ghana and meet supporters abroad”- he said
“Most Clubs in Ghana are facing financial problems and such a situation puts huge burdens on the club to sell their best players after every season which dismantles the core team of the club. It’s better as a club to bring those in the diaspora on board to contribute their small quota to see the club running smoothly. The CEO together with some members of the management team can tour Europe and sell Kotoko’s idea to them and even organize matches in the diaspora for the team and cash out”- he told the leading sports page in Ghana, Ghanasportspage.com.
Meanwhile, Diaspora and International relations manageress for Asante Kotoko Akosua Dentaa hinted in 2020 that the club together with some selected players will soon embark on a global fundraising tour.
“My core duty is to reach out to our fans in the diaspora and get them registered as recognized supporters”
” We will organize fundraising with some players in attendance around the world. We will propose a monthly subscription fee for our fans in the diaspora” she revealed.
Jarvis Peprah praised Asante Kotoko’s Circle 0086 in China for their contribution towards the development of the club and also encouraged them to do more for the club irrespective of their differences but should anchor the success of the club.
