Bibiani Gold Stars extended their unbeaten run as Noah Martey’s sublime effort is enough to see off RTU and put Michael Osei’s side level on top of the league table with Aduana Stars.
It was a full-blooded action at the Dun’s Park. Gold Stars were the dominant side throughout the afternoon, and could have won by a bigger margin in the end.
Their best move of the first half resulted in an opportunity for Noah. He took his time to score the only goal of the game .
The second half started in a fairly manner, with RTU fighting for an equalizer but they were not given the chance to break the defence of Gold Stars.
It was a great display in the second, but both teams didn’t test the two goalkeepers, and the end product was lacking.
The work-rate of the host was excellence to see out a goal victory at their home ground on week nine as the league resumes. They are first on the table with 16 points after Monday’s win.
