Hearts of Oak manager, Slavko Matic has expressed delight with his players for their determination and zeal in the team’s 1-0 Premier League win over Nsoatreman FC on Tuesday.
The Rainbows demonstrated a masterclass performance, dominated possession early on at the Nsoatre Park, but could not find a way through a well-organised Nsoatreman FC defence before break.
However, Obeng Junior’s 51s-minute goal was all Hearts of Oak needed to snatch the maximum points.
Speaking with StarTimes after the match, the Serbian tactician stated that he appreciated the players’ determination to go the extra mile in order to overcome the newly-promoted side.
“Congratulations to our players. They showed again attitude and amazing character. In the first half we faced some problems but in second half we changed the system, changed positions for players and they adopted it well. You saw second half they create lot of chances. Congratulations to them for one more time. I think the team did well today,” Coach Slavko stated.
He said the change of positions, formation and good substitutions was a key factor that masterminded their victory on Tuesday.
“It wasn’t easy. Many players changed positions, good substitutions we made. We changed system from 4-4-2 to 4-2-31 that helped us and we deserved this win also.”
Next for Hearts of Oak is Bechem United at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on January 1st, 2023.
They currently rank third on the league table with 16 points.
