SAD: Ghana’s U-20 World Cup winning coach, Sellas Tetteh sadly cries out over unpaid debt – VIDEO

Ex-Ghana U-20 coach, Sellas has sadly revealed how he has been neglected by the football governing body of the nation since winning the 2009 World Cup in Egypt.

Tetteh was the head coach for the Ghana under-20 team at the 2009 African Youth Championship, leading them to win the championship, the first time since 1999 when they won, with that qualifying them to the World Cup. He guided the team to the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup, becoming the first African team to win the competition.

Having won the CAF Coach of the Year Award and the Sports Writers Association of Ghana Coach of the Year Award, he left his role as Black Satellites and Liberty Professionals gaffer to charge of the Rwandan national team in 2010.

Tetteh was put in charge of the Ghana U20 team again in December 2012 ahead of the 2013 African Youth Championship in Algeria.

He led the team to a 2nd place losing to Egypt in the finals after a penalty shootout. He was again in charge of Ghana U20 at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He led the team to a third-place finish at the end of the competition.

Coach Sellas Tetteh is recovering illness which has been troubling him.

In a conversation with Sports Obama Tv, the 66-year-old trainer disclosed that he had a contract with the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to be paid winning bonuses of $4000 but technical team are yet to receive their monies.
