Accra Hearts of Oak begin the defence of their FA Cup title today as the Rainbows join the competition at the round 64. Slavko Matic’s side, who won the trophy at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium by beating Bechem United last June, take on the lower side, Uncle T United this afternoon at the Ghanaman Soccer Center Excellence – Prampram
The Rainbows came from a goal down to beat the Hunters 2-1 in the final of the last edition with Caleb Amankwah and Barnieh scoring both goals.
And they will hope to further extend their dominance in the history of the competition by winning it the 13th time this season.
Hearts will be looking to book their spot in the next round of the FA Cup when they welcome the Division One League side to Prampram this afternoon. The Phobians will enter the match off the back of seven unbeaten games in all competitions.
However, it has been a strong couple of weeks for the capital outfit, who defeated Nsoatreman in their last league fixture to rise into 3rd position in the table.
In today’s FA Cup clash, Hearts will miss some key players but they still have a viable squad to fight for the next round.
Coach Slavko Matic is expected to make some changes to his line-up but goalkeeper Richmond Ayi will still be in posts ahead of Eric Ofori Antwi.
The former Legon Cities glovesman has had a quite time, sitting on the bench in the Premier League.
Both Inkoom, Eric Esso, Kwadwo Obeng and Salifu Ibrahim should start in Slavko Matic set up.
Hearts of Oak’s possible line-up against Uncle T United:
Richmond Ayi (GK)
Zakari Yakubu
Yaw Amankwa Baafi
Rashid Okine
Salifu Ibrahim
Robert Addo Sowah
Glid Otanga
Samuel Inkoom
Gideon Asante Yeboah
