Goals from Benjamin Yorke, Kwadwo Obeng Junior and Salifu Ibrahim fired the FA Cup holders, Hearts of Oak to a 3-1 win at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence – Prampram against Uncle T United as the Rainbows progress to the next round of the competition.
The lower side broke the deadlock in the 45th minute to crush Hearts of Oak’s hopes but back from recess, Salifu Ibrahim delivered a fantastic freekick into the vital area of Uncle T United which gave the Phobians the desired equaliser just after four minutes.
Uncle T later intensified their pressure on Hearts of Oak but their defence was well-organised to ward off the opponent’s threats.
Hearts of Oak, however, made a dramatic comeback during the 70th and the 72nd minute when they scored two goals in less than two minutes through Obeng Junior and Benjamin Yorke.
After winning 3-1 against Uncle T, the Rainbows will now continue their title defence in the last 32 stage.
They are now unbeaten in eight games in all competitions. They will hope to extend their dominance this season by winning the title for the 13th time.
