Premier League clubs were in action over the weekend as some advanced to the next stage of the competition, Dreams FC, Aduana FC, Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak, King Faisal, Great Olympics, Bibiani Gold stars and others have booked their places in the Round of 32 stage of the 2022/2023 MTN FA Cup competition after edging out their opponents in the round of 64 stage games between Friday and Tuesday afternoon.

While 2021/2022 Champions Accra Hearts of Oak, made light work of struggling Uncle T with a resounding 3-1 victory at Prampram on Tuesday, December 27. But there were surprises as Division One League Steadfast walloped Ghana Premier League side Tamale City by 2-1.

King Faisal also made the cut after securing a 0-2 win over Real PRO Players Football Academy on Saturday. The premier league clubs continued to show class in the ‘Obia nye obia’ (translating as ‘nobody’s game’) competition When Asante Kotoko brushed off Premier League side, Bechem United with a 4-2 victory on penalties after a 2-2 draw on Monday afternoon at the Baba Yara Stadium.

It was yet another all-premier league sides affair, where hosts Karela United edged out Medeama SC 5-5 on Penalties following a 1-1 draw. Thirty-two(32) teams have made it to the R32 stage so far after recording victories at the Round 64 stage.

61 goals were scored in regulation time in the 32 Matches. Penalty shootout had to be resorted to decide which teams qualified for the R32. The 10 Teams that made it via penalty visas are Asante Kotoko, Karela FC, Skyy FC, Volta Rangers FC, AS Rences FC, Nzema Kotoko FC, Golden Kick FC, Akosombo Krystal Palace, Wa Sunta SC and Benab FC.
