Newly-appointed Black Galaxies captain, Gladson Awako says his career has been rejuvenated under Serbian gaffer, Slavko Matic.
Despite joining the Rainbows as one of the best midfielders in the Ghanaian league, the former U-20 World Cup winner feels young and energetic again within this short time while playing under the new Phobian gaffer.
“I thank Matic for his good support. Though he has been here for a short while, I have learnt a lot from him. I see my career has been rejuvenated within this short while I have played under the coach. He is such a great coach to work with. He is a good leader and a father to all of us. His understanding of the game is tremendous and I believe that has helped us a lot in the completions,” Awako revealed to heartsofoaksc.com.
Few days ago, the former Great Olympics captain ended all speculations about his future with Hearts and signed a one-year contract extension with the Phobians which has an option to extend thereafter.
In his first year with the club, he played an important role to help the Phobains successfully defend the MTN FA CUP title.
Awako is on national duty with the Black Galaxies. They are currently in Egypt preparing for the upcoming CHAN tournament to be held in Algeria.
