Aduana Stars winger, Emmanuel Gyamfi has opened on his tackle against Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Frederick Asare.
The Aduana Stars player was captured while stepping on the foot of the Porcupine Warriors goalkeeper during their week 10 clash at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park which ended 0-0.
However, the former Porcupine star has explained why he retaliated, claiming he was first pushed from behind by Justice Blay.
“I was pushed from behind by Blay and the keeper was first stepped on my left ankle before I retaliated,” Gyamfi opened up to Ghanasportspage.com.
Gyamfi, however, apologized for the incident an hours after the game.
The player said he had made a ‘clumsy tackle’ to a scene in week ten’s top liner, which had ‘gone down badly with a great many people’ and he was ‘horrified to have done that’.
“I’m sorry for stepping on his foot. It’s not worth to retaliate and I’m sorry for that,” he said.
Gyamfi has played a key role in Aduana Stars perfect start to the season. He has been featured in all the ten Premier League games this season for the club as they lead with 20 points.
