The Black Galaxies head of the African Nations Championship to be staged in Algeria will play some friendly matches against Algeria and Mozambique as part of their preparations for the tournament.
The team arrived in Algiers on Tuesday after a week camping in Egypt and are scheduled to take on the tournament hosts in a friendly match at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers on Saturday, January 7.
As part of their preparations, the team played against the U-20 of Egypt in a behind-closed-doors game at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday.
The Black Galaxies won the game 2-0 courtesy goals from Kofi Kordzi and Slyvester Simba in the first and second half respectively.
The Black Galaxies are returning to the CHAN tournament after an eight-year absence. The Galaxies making their first appearance in the competition since finishing as silver-medalists in the 2014 edition of the CHAN tournament where they lost to Libya on penalties.
The Black Galaxies have been housed in Group C alongside Morocco, Madagascar and Sudan.
The tournament has been scheduled to kick off from January 13- February 4, 2023.
