Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak seems to have thrown in the towel in their bid to convince Salifu Ibrahim to sign an extension contract with the Rainbow Club.
The 22-year-old, who is managed by the UK-based Eyeconic Sports Management Ltd, has a year and a half year left on his running contract with the club and Phobians are desperate to see him renew.
According to Enoch Worlanyo on Asempa FM’s SportsNite Leaks, the Phobians have held a series of meetings with the player and his representatives over an extension deal.
There is still a lack of common grounds in the negotiations as the two parties remain at variance over monthly salary and an enticement fee.
According to Worlanyo who correctly predicted the departure of David Duncan from Medeama SC, Salifu and his representatives are asking for a $33,000 enticement sum while demanding a monthly salary worth $4,000.
While Salifu and his representatives are unwilling to cut down on their demands, the Phobians are unprepared to cede to the demands.
The situation has created a stalemate and the Phobians have resolved to accept any decent offer to allow the player to exit the club as they do not want to be caught in the same dilemma as Daniel Afriyie Barnieh who held the club by their ball until the final minutes.
