Asante Kotoko duo George Mfegue and Isaac Oppong have been ruled out of Kotoko’s next league game against Accra Great Olympics on Sunday due to injuries.
The skilful wingers sustained knocks at training in the course of the week, and are yet to recover for their next game.
Isaac Oppong’s knee injury has been seen out of action for weeks and will continue to be sidelined to recover properly and come back stronger with George Mfegue also nursing an injury. “both are still recovering”, David Obeng Nyarko told Ghanasportspage.com via WhatsApp.
This will serve as a huge blow for coach Seydou Zerbo following their exploits and great ability to take on defenders but is most likely they will be replaced by Dickson Afoakwa and Stephen Amankona.
Kotoko is still second on the league log in the Ghana Premier League with 18 points after 10 matches.
Their game against Accra Great Olympics at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium is slated for 1500GMT on Sunday.
