Hearts of Oak announced the appointment of Serbian football manager Slavko Matic as their new head coach on a two-year deal.
He replaced Samuel Boadu who got sacked after a poor start to the 2022/23 season with a draw with their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in Kumasi sealing his departure.

The 46-year-old started his youth career with the Serbian club Partizan Belgrade, playing between 1986 and 1956.
His senior career chapter opened at fellow Belgrade club Čukarički, playing there for two years between 1996 and 1998.

At Slavia Sofia, the defender managed to register 25 appearances and got on the score sheet once.
In 2005, Matic played an integral role for CSKA Sofia when they played Liverpool in Uefa Champions League Qualifiers a game he was deployed as a right back and performed with ease.
Matic went on to play for six other clubs before quitting active football to take up coaching.
Coaching career
He holds a UEFA Pro License coaching certificate, the highest coaching certification available in Europe. Slavko Matic began his professional coaching career with the Qatari club Al-Ahli as an assistant coach and coach of Team B.
He was with the club between 2010 and 2014. It is the longest spell he has been in at a football club.
Matic has five coaching qualifications from different pieces of training and workshops.
He took Septemvri Sofia at position 6th and won the league as champion and was promoted to Premier League in Bulgari with the youngest team in history ever and 4 players sold in the best clubs in Bulgaria and one in Romania.
The last club he worked with before coming to Hearts of Oak was Septemvri Sofia, a team from the second tier of Bulgarian football, in early 2022.
