King Faisal held Hearts of Oak to a goalless draw on Thursday night at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the Ghana Premier League week 12 encounter.
King Faisal was the better team in the first half and came close to scoring as they struck the post after a decent spell.
They couldn’t bury another great opportunity after Hearts of Oak forward Isaac Mensah shot feeble into the hands of the goalkeeper after finding himself in a great position.
Linda Mtange Don missed a big chance. Afterwards, he hit the woodwork and then Gideon Asante shot wide, all happening towards the end of the game.
After their goalless game, captain Salifu Ibrahim expressed his displeasure for not clinching all the maximum three points despite their dominance in the game.
“I thank all the supporters for coming in their numbers to cheer the team to victory but unfortunately, we could not give them their winning bonus as a fan. Football is a win, lose or draw and we are happy to get a draw though it was not what we hoped for. We hope to win in our next game and make them happy as usual”- he said
Hearts Of Oak defender Samuel Inkoom also added his to the campaign of his captain Salifu Ibrahim
“It was hard luck and we did everything possible to have all the points. We have to keep pushing and I believe we will be crown champions at the end of the league”
The draw drops the Phobians four points off the top spot, while the ISha Allah lads are only one point above the drop zone.
Hearts of Oak will stay in second after the draw. King Faisal also remains a place above the relegation zone.
