Hearts of Oak had to settle for a point against FC Samartex in a very tough battle at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in the BetPawa Premier League.
However, the Rainbow side remains in the second position after 13 games – three points behind leaders, Aduana Stars and one point above their rivals Asante Kotoko.
Both sides had chances to win it, with Hearts of Oak creating more chances but would be disappointed for firing blanks.
The goalkeepers of both sides were heavily involved in the game, as they had their moments to save their teams.
Having returned to the Accra Sports Stadium for the first this year, the Rainbows were hoping to snatch the maximum points but failed to capitalize on Aduana’s slip-up.
The could have closed the gap to one point. Despite a bright start, they couldn’t make the breakthrough in what was an encounter short of clear chances.
The visitors would be at least satisfied with a draw in Accra, while it would be frustrating for Slavko Mati’s side who were held by King Faisal on Thursday.
Hearts of Oak need to master their game as they tend to be the major contender for the title.
