Bibiani Gold Stars and Kumasi Asante Kotoko were held to a 1-1 draw at the Dun’s Park on Monday in the BetPawa Premier League.
Yahaya Adraman scored to salvage point for Gold Stars, having capitalized on Ibrahim Laar’s penalty missed.
The Golden Boys were awarded two penalties and the Porcupines Warriors were angry at referee Franklin Akumatey.
It had looked like Kotoko was on the verge to secure victory after three winless run before the controversial penalty was taken in the 50th minute.
The defending champions were furious after a feeling refereeing decisions cost their team a win in Bibiani.
But the Chief Executive Officer for Gold Stars has slammed the Reds, stating they are too big to talk about a referee’s decision.
“As a CEO, I hardly talk about a referee after a game, you shift blames when you do that.
“The two penalties were all clear penalties. The first was a clear handball and with the second, the two players heckled our player. There was a contact and it makes it a foul.
“Kotoko is too big a club to talk about a referee’s issue after a game,” Kwasi Adu told Oyerepa FM.
