Ghanaian champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko are leading the race to sign their ex-forward, Kwame Poku.
The former Porcupine after almost two-year stint with USM Algiers and a short move to the Suadi Professional League respectively is romoured to have begun negotiations for a come back to the club that offered him the limelight to achieve a moneymaking journey.
He has confirmed in an interview with Precise FM that the Ghanaian powerhouse are leading Accra Hearts of Oak for his services.
“It’s not true that I have terminated or requested to terminate my contract with USM Algiers but I am working together with my agent to seek for transfer.
“I have alot of offers including Hearts of oak. Hearts of oak tallked to my agent sometime ago but for now I can confirm Kotoko is leading the race and almost 80% is done. I can assure you for that”.
“When I was leaving Kotoko, I said I have an unfinished business with the fans so if there’s an opportunity to serve again why not,” He added.
Kwame Poku joined Asante Kotoko for a three (3) years deal from Nkoranza Warriors FC, a division one (1) league club in January 2020 immediately after a month trials with Serbian outfit, Red Star Belgrade. The young but potent striker had a phenomenal endeavor with the porcupine warriors, netted 7 goals in sixteen league matches for the Ghanaian powerhouse.
