Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of former Medeama SC midfielder, Rashid Nortey on a free transfer.
Rashid has penned two and a half-year deal with the GPL holders.
“Rashid comes with enormous quality and experience and will only improve our team to help us achieve our targets this season,” the club stated on their official website.
The highly-rated midfielder left Medeama SC on January 12 following the expiration of his contract.
Nortey appeared as star in midfielder during his six-year stay with the Tarkwa-based side.
His scintillating performance earned him a call up to the Ghana A’ national football team ahead of friendly match against Uzbekistan national team last year.
He made his debut for the Black Stars team on 8 June 2021 in a friendly against Morocco under Coach CK Akonnor. He introduced as replacement for Emmanuel Lomotey in the added time of Ghana’s 0–1 away loss.
