Director General for National Sports Authority, Professor Peter Twumasi has boldly stated that Ghana is ready to host the upcoming African Games.
The 13th African Games is expected to be held in three cities in Ghana this year.
It signaled the first time Ghana would host the continental showpiece – The grandest sport competition on the continent.
However, preparations by the NSA towards the 2023 African games have taken quite the slow route but Professor Peter Twumasi said Ghana is ready to host the competition despite difficulties and the state of sports facilities in the country.
“We are ready and we can host the African games. When you check the infrastructure development in Ghana now then our strength is more than African Games. We were able to host the AFCON in 2008 and what are we doing with those facilities. Now every district is having an astroturf and all the teams will get a place to train. We have renovated the Accra Sports Stadium and it is strong same as Cape Coast and Baba Yara,” he told UTV news.
