Ghana will face Niger in the quarter-final stage in ongoing CHAN tournament in Algeria on Saturday, 28 January, 2023.
The Black Galaxies’ place in the quarter-finals of the competition was confirmed after Madagascar hammered Sudan 3-0 in their final Group C game on Monday.
Madagascar topped Group C with nine points and Black Galaxies finish second on six points.
However, Niger also emerged from Group E as group winners with four points after beating Cameroon and drawing with Congo Republic.
The Ghanaian side were supposed to face Morocco on Monday but were instead awarded three points and three goals following the North African country’s withdrawal from this year’s CHAN.
Aside Black Galaxies, Sudan and Madagascar were also awarded three points and three goals on the back of Morocco’s withdrawal.
Only Cameroon, Niger Republic and Congo Republic featured in Group E.
The Nigeriens are the only side to play in the quarter-final stage from the group while Cameroon and Congo Republic are out of the competition.
