The Ghana Football Association has hinted at promoting the Women’s League at all match venues as a curtain raisers for the Ghana Premier League.
This initiative forms part of the current administration of the FA to empower Women’s football to gain the needed prominence in the country.
According to the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo, the FA is ever ready to make promote the Women’s league to the height of the Ghana Premier league.
” The FA is probing ways to use some of the Women’s league games as a curtain raiser for the Ghana Premier league. As the body of football in the country, we know it would not be easy to embrace this at the men’s side but we will continue to push this and have some of the matches as curtain raisers” he said.
Speaking at the launch of the new Women’s Premier league, Prosper Harrison used the platform to commend some clubs for establishing women’s teams in the country.
” As directed by CAF and FIFA for clubs to have a women’s team, very soon it will be a requirement. I will commend Hearts of Oak for their readiness to establish a women’s team in the country. Other clubs should emulate same and continue to empower women’s football”
