A superb display from Mohammed Kudus rescued a point for Ajax at home on Thursday night against FC Volendam.
Despite dominating in the first half, Ajax found themselves a goal down in the 59th minute.
However, Kudus entered the game as a substitute and inspired the Deutsch champions with a blistering display, scoring his first goal after the World Cup and helping the club to earn a point in the Netherlands Eredivise.
FC Volendam took a surprise lead in the 59th minute through Damon Mirani, before the Ghanaian international scored ten minutes from time to prevent an embarrassing home defeat.
During the game, the home crowd waved white flags and chanted for head coach Alfred Schreuder to be sacked after a number of poor results in a row.
The Ghanaian midfielder has now bagged 6 goals in the Dutch top division after 17 appearances this campaign.
He was introduced in the game in the 60th minute when he replaced Nigeria defender Calvin Bassey and his goal was needed to prevent embarrassing home defeat.
Ajax is fifth and they are now seven points off top spot.
