Aduana Stars remain in pole position in the Premier League after a breathless 1-1 draw with Accra Lions in Dormaa on Sunday afternoon.
The result means the Ogya Boys retain their lead over Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, having been unable to find a winner in a captivating contest that lived up to its big game billing.
Accra Lions made a flying start to a breathless encounter, opening the scoring in the 43rd minute through Abass Samari Salifu.
Despite going down by a goal, the home side remained on the front foot.
They had the ball in the net when Solomon Aboagye scored on the 69th minute to restore parity.
The hosts were magnificent in the second 45 minutes, but will rue several missed opportunities. It was a fantastic game from both sides.
Such intensity, such fine margins but nothing decided. The destination of the Premier League title does, though, remain in Aduana’s hands as they top with 25 points while Accra Lions sith fifth with 23 points.
In Accra, Great Olympics extended their unbeaten run to four after picking a 1-0 win over Karela United.
Prince Kwadwo Afrifa’s 15th minute goal separated the two clubs.
Olympics find themselves at the 6th position with 22 points.
