Dreams FC Coach Abdul Karim Zito admitted that he wasn’t just happy with the victory against Hearts of Oak but was happy to pick his first win with the Still Believe side at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak were knocked out from the MTN FA Cup round of 32 following a 1-0 defeat to Dreams FC.
A first-half goal from Agyenim Boateng sealed victory for Dreams Fc in the nation’s capital, the first time the ‘Still Believe’ lads claimed victory over Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The win sends Dreams into the last 16 of the Cup competition.
Coach Karim Zito disclosed how chuffed he was to see his players picking a historic victory at the Accra Sports Stadium via Ghanasportspage.com.
“I was only happy because we were able to break our winless record at the Accra Sports Stadium. This is a stadium we had never won a single match prior to the Hearts game. Our best is a draw. I wasn’t just happy with the result but picking our first win at the Accra Sports Stadium because beating Hearts of Oak is normal. I beat them with the same club but not at the Accra Sports Stadium. The joy for me was the first win at the Accra Sports Stadium not that I beat Hearts of Oak,” said Karim Zito.
Dreams FC will host Liberty Professionals in the round of 16 of the competition after brushing off the defending champions.
These matches will be played from Friday, February 24 to Sunday, February 26, 2023.
