Head coach for the Angolan national team, Pedro Gonçalves has vowed to create trouble for Ghana’s new coach, Chris Hughton in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
Chris Hughton will lead the four-time African champions for their fierce double-header against Angola scheduled for March 20th and 28th, 2023.
The Black Stars will be looking to bounce straight back from their abysmal performance at the World Cup, with the focus squarely on the game against the Black Antelopes.
But Coach Pedro Gonçalves says he is ready to create trouble for the former Norwich boss when they take on Ghana.
Reacting to Chris Hughton’s appointment as Ghana’s new coach, he said: “Well, I have never met him personally. I have never been with him. Sure, we have a chance to cross each other. We haven’t talked to each other before but this is a chance to meet each in the AFCON qualifiers. He is an experienced coach and right now that he is in charge of the Ghana national team, I hope he is going to do a good job but my work right now is to create trouble for him.
“Yes, I hope we will have a fair match and then we will see but for now I wish to create trouble for Chris Hughton,” Pedro told Ghana’s leading sports site Ghanasportspage.com.
With one win and one draw, the Black Antelopes sit second behind Ghana in Group E with four points.
Coach Pedro and his team will visit Ghana first before the second leg in Angola.
