Ex Black Star captain Asamoah Gyan has decided to organize a farewell game to raise funds for the late Christian Atsu’s family.
The 37-year-old played for the Black Stars for a decade and a half, becoming his country’s all-time top scorer with 51 goals and also shared the dressing room with Atsu at the national level on several occasions.
“I’m planning to organize a game to raise money for the family. I believe when that day comes, everyone including the stars will come on board to support us so that we can raise funds for the family of Christian Atsu” he told Maxsports
He is also Ghana’s second most-capped player, having played 109 times across different tournaments and friendlies.
Atsu was confirmed dead after a massive earthquake hit Turkey two weeks ago and his body returned to Ghana last Sunday from Turkey.
The one week celebration of the former Chelsea and Newcastle winger is slated on the 4 March,2023
