Accra Lions secured a vital win on the road after an impressive 2-1 victory over Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in midweek action of the Ghana Premier League.
Accra Lions who splitted points against Kotoku Royals last week, started the game strongly and should have been up by two goals in the first ten minutes after Solomon Oppong and Bassit Seidu came close.
In form Abass Samari of Accra Lions gave the visitors the lead with a sublime finish to grab his eight goal of the season. Karela United troubled the defence of Accra Lions momentarily but just half way through the first half before the home side got the equalizer through Samuel Atta Kumi before recess.
After the break, Karela United coach Ibrahim Tanko Shaibu made three changes as he tried to get something out of the game.However, the hosts quickly woke from slumber and created some good chances.
Second half substitute Dominic Amponsah got the second in the dying minutes of the game to amass all three points for the visitors.
Evans Adomako came close to get his team back in the game but a timely intervention by a Accra Lions defender saw him miss a glorious opportunity.
Accra Lions will be on the road to play Tamale City in their next game with Karela United engaging Dreams FC.
