Asante Kotoko bounced back to winning ways in the BetPawa Premier League as they secured a narrow 1-0 win at home against Bechem United.
It was a typically hard-fought battle between the two sides at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with Enock Morrison’s classy finish proving to be the difference to send Kotoko back to the second position.
Coach Seydou Zerbo made the decision to go with Mohammed Alhassan, Augustine Agyapong, Nicholas Osei-Bonsu and Sherrif Mohammed in defence, while Danlad Ibrahim got the nod ahead of Frederick Asare in goal.
The midfield was occupied by Richard Boadu, Richmond Lamptey and Mohammed Sherrif.
Steven Mukwala also led the lines alongside Georges Mfegue and Enock Morrison, who scored the only goal.
It was a difficult game for both sides. They all played well but Kotoko controlled it better.
Kotoko defender Mohammed Alhassan looked confident, even in tight situations. He played an important role to help the Porcupine Warriors get back winning ways.
Bechem United youngster, Clinton Duodu enjoyed yet another impressive outing. He always caused problems when he got on the ball – tackled back as well, which would please Kassim Mingle despite the result.
The Porcupine Warriors have surpassed the Hunters to occupy the second place with 31 points. They now sit five point behind leaders Aduana Stars, who drew goalless with King Faisal.
Next up, Asante Kotoko will visit Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday while Bechem United host Gold Stars at home.
