Former Chelsea and Black Stars player Christian Atsu one week observation took place on March 4,2023 at the Adjiringanor Astro turf and it aslo served as a platform to announce his final funeral rite.
The one week observation was massively attended by Ghanaians who attended the event to pay their last respect to the footballer.
According to the elders of Atsu,the funeral will be held at the forecourt of the State House on Friday March 17, 2023 with Ghana’s president Nana Akufo-Addo expected to be in attendance
Atsu was confirmed dead by his agent after a massive earthquake hit Turkey three weeks ago.
Atsu, who represented his country 65 times, played for a number of clubs including Everton, Chelsea, Newcastle in England, and Porto in Portugal. At the time of his tragic death, he was plying his trade in Turkey for Hatayspor.
The winger joined Hatayspor for free on September 6, 2022 after leaving the Saudi Arabian team Al-Raed. He scored 1 goal in 4 matches he took part in for Hatayspor.
