Black Stars defender, Baba Abdul Rahman, Ohene Brenya, Daniel Nii Adjei, Seidu Bancey and others start in Michael Akuffu’s best XI at Asante Kotoko.
The midfielder spent seven seasons with the current Ghanaian champions after joining them from Feyenoord Academy [now WAFA] alongside Yaw Frimpong and Awal Mohammed in 2011.
Akuffu became one of the best defensive midfielders in the country after helping the team to win four Premier League titles.
In his best XI, there’s a lot of firepower and quality, with Coach Maxwell Konadu and Didi Dramani leading the team.
However, It would be a treat to watch the team the ex-Porcune star named. Michael Akuffu himself walks into his best XI.
“I worked under two coaches and I can’t choose one as the best but for the players I will choose Isaac Amoako as number one, followed by Yaw Frimpong, Baba Rahman, Awal Mohammed and Ohene Brenya at number four and five. Myself [Michael Akufo], Daniel Nii Adjei, Michael Anaba, and Nathaniel Asamoah. I will play Ahmed Toure and Seidu Bancey upfront. Coach Didi Dramani and Maxwell Konadu are my best coaches.
“We won the league with Coach Maxwell Konadu before he left for the Black Stars job. Coach Didi Dramani also came and we won two GPL titles and two FA Cup titles. They are the people who have worked on my career and they are also behind my dream to become a coach now. They told me to learn during my playing time and I never took it seriously. But it has come to pass today. They are the people who have made a lot of impact in my playing career,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.
