Coach David Ocloo was left with an “incredible feeling” after Hearts of Oak’s 1-0 victory over Akim Oda Kotoku Royals, thanks to Caleb Amankwah’s stoppage-time header.
The victory came one week after their hard-fought 1-1 draw with Bibiani Gold Stars which saw Isaac Mensah’s stoppage-time goal snatching point for the President’s Cup holders.
In Sunday’s game against the relegation-threatened side, it looked as though Hearts would have to settle for a draw. However, with just minutes remaining on the clock, Caleb Amankwah popped up with the decisive goal to send the home fans into raptures.
And that changed the mood of their assistant coach David Ocloo. He was “super happy” with the victory as they regained their place on the league table.
Asked how he felt after the game, David Ocloo said: “I feel elated, I feel excited. I told you it was going to be a difficult game. They are down so they will come with a multiple effort and that is what they did but kudos to John. He has done a great job but we are the never say die lads,” he told StarTimes after the game.
