Accra Hearts of Oak youngster, Yaw Amankwaa Baafi says he never knew he could play like this as a right-back after Hearts of Oak’s 1-0 victory over Kotoku Royals.
Baafi plays as a midfielder but he has been pushed to the right-back position.
The 19-year-old player showed character and he was so amazing in Sunday’s game against the relegation battling side. He remained firmly on the ground and won the man of the match Award.
It’s clear that the youngster will improve in all aspects of his game with his current form, having occupied the role above experienced Samuel Inkoom.
He did a creative work and fed the attackers, protected their flanks and gave them the freedom they needed in yesterday’s hard-fought win.
After the game, he said: “I think I will be grateful to Coach Matic and Coach Ocloo for discovering that potential in me because I never knew I can play like this at the right back and all of a sudden they gave me the confidence and now I’m playing,” he stated in an interview with StarTimes.
