The Central African Republic (CAR) picked up a vital win in their qualifier on Monday when they beat Madagascar 2-0 to keep alive their hopes of advancing to the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire as they place 2nd position in Group E with 7 points.
The Central African Republic picked their second win in the qualifiers at the Stade de la Reunification in Douala, Cameroon.
Louis Mafouta netted in each half to guide The Central African Republic to a 2-0 win in the Group E qualifier.
“I am very happy that today we scored two goals and won the match. We need to keep working hard because we have more matches to come in the qualifiers and our target is to qualify for AFCON,” said Raoul Savoy coach of the Central African Republic.
Ghana and the Central African Republic are leading the group with eight and seven points respectively. Ghana drew 1-1 with Angola today.
