Former WBC champion, Azuma Nelson has thrown support behind Ghanaian boxer, Isaac Dogboe ahead of his fight against Robeisy Ramirez from Cuba.
The 28 year old, ‘The Royal Storm’ and Featherweight Champion will mount the ring once again today to contest the WBO featherweight world title in the United States of America.
Ahead of the highly anticipated bout, the legendary Ghanaian boxer in an interview with Atinka FM said: “Dogbe should should move in fast with different combinations. He should be different small. He should know his stamina because when you are fighting and not moving in fast then you might be tired.
“You need a lot stamina for that and also for the twelve rounds. I’ve not seen his opponent before but I heard he is from Cuba. They know how to fight well so Dogboe must be serious.
“We are praying for him to win because our titles are gone and we don’t have any champion again.
Asked should Dogboe go in for knockout, he replied: “He can’t go in for knockout but you have to create a chance. If you can’t then don’t force yourself for knockout. Knockout deals with stamina. It will turn against you if you lose stamina. He should study the person in the first round so that he will be able to get him. He should study him but the combination should be more.
“Ramirez is also coming in for the title but experience and stamina will speak. They all know it and that will make it tough. You have to change your styles and see the one that will help you,” Azuma told King Akuffo.
