Head coach for Real Tamale United, Abdul Mumin Abdulai believes the red card contributed to his team’s 4-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
The Northern giants, who entered the game without defeat in their last seven games were torn apart by a clinical Kotoko side at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Kotoko took advantage of goalkeeper Yaw Osei’s 34th minute red card to score as many as four goals. The breakthrough came just two minutes after the goalkeeper was sent off.
But the trainer for the visitors believes the decision by the referee was harsh and soft.
“I will congratulate Kotoko but the red card awarded to our goalkeeper. Looking into it I’m sure if the referee should review it, he will change his decision.”
“The red card disorganized our team play. In any case it shouldn’t have been that but it happened so we congratulate them for that,” Coch Mumin told Ghanasportspage.com.
