Linda Mtange netted a brace for Accra Hearts of Oak as they beat Na God FC 3-2 at the Pobiman Sports Complex in a club friendly on Saturday morning.
The Phobians’ physical power was simply too much for the Division One League side in the opening minutes to handle. Hearts applied a high press and snatched the lead in the 8th minute through Suraj Seidu.
Both sides put out full-strength teams for the friendly encounter. Hearts certainly controlled the first half but were unable to fashion clear-cut chances inside the box to extend the lead before break.
Coach David Ocloo changed his line-up at the break and brought in a different set-up in the second half.
They took control of the game and increased the lead through Linda Mtange’s 67th minute strike.
However, the visitors also looked dangerous after Hearts of Oak’s second goal and responded just three minutes later to reduce the deficit.
Na God FC remained competitive and levelled the scoreline but Hearts of Oak survived to restore the lead through Linda Mtange in the dying embers.
The clash serves as a preparatory test for the President’s Cup holders ahead of their game against Nsoatreman FC in the Ghana Premier League.
They currently sit fifth on the league table with 39 points.
