Three European clubs are reportedly showing an interest in signing Salifu Ibrahim from Accra Hearts of Oak after the season.
AS Monaco, PSV Eindhoven and FC Porto are claimed to be the three clubs interested in signing the highly-rated midfielder that is valued at 150,000 euros as the chase begins for his services.
The midfielder joined the Phobians in February 2021 on a three-and-a-half-year deal from Techiman Eleven Wonders and was very instrumental in the club winning their first league trophy in eleven years and also the FA Cup.
He turned out to be a surprise package for the Rainbows in 2021 and beat off competition from WAFA’s Augustine Boakye and Olympics’ Gladson Awako to win the Player-of-The-Year award after bagging 3 goals, 8 assists, and 8 MVPs.
The midfielder was Phenomenal for Eleven Wonders before his all important move to the camp of the Rainbow boys.
Salifu, who’s contract with the club ends in February 2024, has scored 2 goals and 2 assists in 15 games for Hearts of Oak this season.
As reported, the GPL club is keen to tie Ibrahim down to a long-term deal as soon as possible and has been hopeful of securing the midfielder’s future before the end of the calendar year.
However, sources with knowledge of the situation have confirmed that the two parties are not significantly apart in their demands but progress has not been as quick as Hearts had expected.
There are not understood to be any major issues in the negotiations and both Hearts and Salifu remain optimistic that an extension will be agreed in the near future.
