Former Asante Kotoko defender, Awal Mohammed says the Ghana Premier League will “not be complete” unless his ex-club wins it.
The Porcupine Warriors are currently fifth on the league table with 39 points in what has been an inconsistent season.
The title hopes of the defending champions suffered a setback following last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.
The defeat has seen them fallen out of the top four but Awal is more hopeful that Kotoko will go on to defend the title.
“I don’t follow the league like first because I don’t usually make calls to Ghana but I want Kotoko to win it. Kotoko without the title, the league will not be complete irrespective of the winner,” Awal told Ghanasportspage.com.
The defender’s comments come ahead of Sunday’s crunch clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium against leaders Aduana Stars.
Kotoko go into the game eight points behind the visitors, but victory would see them cut the gap to to five.
