Asante Kotoko striker, Steven Mukwala is edging closer to an exit by leaving the club at the end of the season, according to reports.
Reports indicate that Mukwala, who is under contract until 2024 and his agent are already working on his exit from the club during the next transfer window.
The Football Signal Uganda reported in March that Tanzanian giants, Simba SC appear to be showing interest in the 23-year-old striker.
According to the publication, the Tanzania Premier League side is reportedly preparing a bid worth approximately $150,000 to sign the player from the GPL holders.
Mukwala joined the Porcupine Warriors from URA FC as replacement for Frank Etouga Mbella in August 2022 and has gone on to make over 27 appearances in all competitions for the current Ghanaian champions.
Having bagged 10 goals in the Ghanaian top-flight, Mukwala ranks third on the Premier League scoring table, just two goals away from the top-scorer, Hafiz Konkoni.
He ended the 2020/21 Uganda Premier League season as the top scorer for Uganda Rivers Authority (URA FC) after scoring 14 goals in 24 matches.
Mukwala also scored 13 goals during the 2021/22 Ugandan Premier for URA FC, finishing as the club’s second top scorer of the season.
