Accra Hearts of Oak’s title charge suffered a blow as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
The Rainbows boss made three changes from the side that defeated Nsoatreman FC as Albert Diego Dieudonne, Otanga and Konadu Yiadom made way for Obeng Junior, Isaac Mensah and Faisal Adams.
Bechem United controlled territory and most of the ball at the start of the first half, with Hafiz Konkoni giving them the lead from spot in the 25th minute. Konkoni is currently leading the top scorers table with 23 goals.
Hearts tried to apply concerted pressure but fail to find the breakthrough. Their head coach David Ocloo was sent off before half time.
Back from recess, the Rainbows were frustrated by a resolute Bechem United side as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, ending their three-game unbeaten run. Hearts suffered a 2-1 defeat in the first leg in Accra.
They have dropped from third to fourth on the league table with 42. Bechem United have also climbed back into second with 44 points, level on point with third-placed Medeama SC.
The Rainbows will travel to face Tamale City in their next fixture of the BetPawa Premier League, while Bechem United travel to play against King Faisal.
