Aduana coach accuses Kotoko of negative football attitude
Aduana Stars coach Paa Kwesi Fabian may still be either having a soft spot for his former club Kotoko or simply hate the style and strategy the Porcupine Warriors used to take the 3 points from his side yesterday.
The coach was furious after the match and throwing his hands about made known how frustrated he is over the negative approach and performance of Kotoko especially as the defending league champions had to delay or slow play most times during the match.
Aduana lost to Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium by 1-2 in an exciting match which pulled the Dormaa boys back in their quest to win the Betpower Premier League title . The Dormaa side took the lead before Kotoko came back and lived up to their Wo Kum Apem a, Apem Beba spirit to score two goals with Ivorian Eric Zeze scoring a beauty of a winning goal in the rainy evening of floodlights at the Baba Yara Stadium fortress of Kotoko .
It was after the match that Aduana coach Kwesi Fabian felt bitter on the style of play of Kotoko ,and was overheard expressing his displeasure at the media centre before the post match conference started .
“Tweaa,is this the Kotoko team we know? This can’t be Kotoko because this is not how Kotoko play and it’s not the style of Kotoko . Asante Kotoko playing delay tactics just to win points? The match was supposed to be played for 90 minutes but we played only 60 minutes because the Kotoko players kept wasting time and were falling down even when nothing happened to them”,said the Aduana coach with a worried face .
Paa Kwesi Fabian previously had three different stints with Kotoko dating back to the late 90’s when he first became the Youth coach of Kotoko under Ernst Middendorp. He helped Kotoko to produce the likes of Michael Fosu Appiah,Osei Kwame ,Prince Anokye,William Thompson,Kwaku Duah among others.
He last worked with Kotoko after replacing Steve Pollack when the current Board chairman Kwame Kyei employed him until 2019 when he was dismissed.
Paa Kwesi later told the pressmen at the post match that his side gifted Kotoko two cheap goals and that was the cause of their defeat ,adding that he is also managing some difficulties in the Aduana set up possibly with injuries and other things . But Paa Kwesi promised that Aduana will win the rest of their league matches and that the league title is certainly closer to Aduana than any of their competitors .
Aduana were booted out by King Faisal in the FA cup ,leaving them with no choice than to win the league of the club wishes to play in Africa next season. The defeat to Kotoko cut their lead to just 3 points as Bechem United breath on their necks, with Medeama ,Kotoko,Hearts and Lions all gunning for the title .
